Steps that matter more than the cream

  1. Change the nappy quickly as soon as it's wet.
  2. Clean with lukewarm water or wipes without alcohol or fragrance.
  3. Pat dry and leave the skin in the air for a while.
  4. Apply a thin layer of cream and don't fasten the nappy too tightly.

When should you see a paediatrician?

  • The rash hasn't improved in 2 to 3 days, or it's getting worse.
  • Small red spots around the rash or in skin folds, because it may be a fungal infection that needs treatment from a doctor.
  • Blisters, pus or broken skin, or the baby has a fever.
  • A very young baby with a severe rash.
